abu dhabi

went for work. was pretty good surprisingly. giant buildings made by 8000 underpaid 24/7 workers looking exhausted and probably abused etc.

August 2009 works

Just completed 7 (12 actually but other 5 are a bit crap)  new works based on the same techniques and themes previously used.

These are 7 re-lit detail and full frame photographs taken of 4 x A2 black / white ink on black card and scalpel pieces with adjusted white balance and focus points to make some bits blurry and capture light on uneven surfaces.

Thinking C type prints on aluminium backing printed huge (once i get the money to do them) The original ink pieces will get put away and maybe recycled or painted over again.

new work – July 09

I have had an unexpected week off from work. It was going to be a day – turned into a week, not so bad in the end as it has been 30 degrees ALL WEEK, and the studio gets disgustingly stuffy and woozy.

Rather than count lost $$$ / spend $$$ I dont have thought I would do some new bits. Even bought a ruler for fun. Set up new ‘workspace’ as well, which is a desk staring at a bustop (1 every 3 minutes), nice and sunny / breezy luckily.

3 A2′s at present and a A0 on the way once I make room to get it off the floor. Reasonably happy with these. About 3-4 drawings layered up on each one, thinking of doing a GIGANTIC ONE somewhere.

hollybank forestry

These are a few photos taken at Hollybank, close to my house in Underwood. Hollybank is a forestry reserve that also happens to be a full of trails and dirt tracks. I ride there everyday usually depending on how many criminals are burning stolen cars and harvesting their crops.

At the top of Excalibur ridge there are huge piles of old tree debris piled up quiet high, that is where most of these photos are taken. There are a few more shots on my Flickr nothing special really but good shapes that look the same as twisted / ruined buildings.
